The PCE-CT 25FN Paint Thickness Tester from PCE Instruments is a specialized device used to measure the thickness of paint and other coatings non-destructively. This tool is particularly valuable in the automotive industry for assessing the quality of paint jobs and verifying the authenticity of the car’s paint, which can indicate whether a vehicle has been repainted or damaged. It’s also extensively used in quality control processes across various industries where protective and aesthetic coatings are applied to surfaces.
The displayed measured value can be expressed in µm, mm and grinding when measuring paint thickness. In addition to measuring layer thickness, the paint thickness tester can also determine the minimum, maximum and average values of a range of different values. The paint thickness gauge also has an auto-off feature.
