The PCE-TAT 10 Adhesion Tester is a device designed to measure the adhesion strength of coatings on various substrates. This tool is essential for evaluating the bond quality of paints, coatings, and other surface treatments to ensure they adhere properly to the underlying material.
The pull-off type adhesion tester is designed to measure the adhesion strength of paints and other coatings on substrates as well as between layers or cohesive materials. This tensile adhesion tester is built in accordance with EN13144 and ISO 4624 standards.
The testing procedure with the mechanical tensile adhesion tester involves the following steps: A dolly is glued to the coating surface being tested. Once the glue has dried, the dolly is pulled off using the device’s spring system. The force applied to detach the glued dolly is displayed as a numerical value on the device’s scale, representing the adhesion strength.
- Clean the surface of the measuring probe and the surface where you want to place the probe, for example, by using fine sand paper.
- Prepare the epoxy adhesive as instructed on the packaging and mix it thoroughly.
- If you use single-component super glue, open the tube.
- Apply the glue to the surface and place the measuring probe on the surface covered with glue, as described in more detail on the packaging.
