The PCE-1000N is a portable, handheld Barcol hardness tester designed for assessing the hardness of various materials including pure aluminum, soft aluminum alloys, and thick aluminum sheets, strips, rods, castings, and forgings. It is also effective for measuring the hardness of fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP), glass-reinforced plastics (GRP), hard plastics, and softer metals like copper and lead. This battery-powered device features a digital Barcol impressor hardness meter that provides high accuracy and a broad measuring range.
Barcol hardness testing is in accordance with the following ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards: E140-97; D2583-75; B648-78: E140-97 Conventional solid lathe tables for metals; D2583-75 Standard Method for Measuring the Hardness of Plastics Using the Barcol Impressionist; B648-78 Standard Test Method for Aluminum Alloy Belts Using the Barcol Hardness Test.
