product overview
Insulation resistance up to a maximum of 4000 M is recorded by the PCE-IT100 insulation tester with auxiliary voltages of 125 V, 250 V, 500 V and 1000 V. In addition, this insulation tester has the ability to measure AC and DC voltages such as low impedance resistance up to 400. The insulation tester also includes a continuity tester with audio signal. The insulation tester has a data hold function to store the current measured value as well as a
function to store the maximum and minimum values for voltage and low impedance readings.
Because of the large numbers and brightness, the insulation tester’s display is easy to read even in dim lighting. Due to its large buttons and spinning knob for selecting the measuring operations, the PCE-IT 100 insulation tester is easy to operate.
This device functions by applying a very low voltage (typically 500 volts or less) to an electrical component or piece of equipment and flowing a very little current through it. If the part’s insulation is effective, a limited area will be covered by the current; if the insulation is insufficient, a greater area will be covered. By measuring the amount of applied voltage and passing current, it is possible to calculate the insulation resistance and determine whether the insulation of the targeted portion is normal.
