Hioki clamp meters are best-in-class measuring devices incorporating Hioki’s expertise in current sensing technology. The Hioki 3287 is an AC/DC current and voltage clamp meter that also measures continuity and resistance, featuring a double jaw lever and slim profile for easy access to crowded wires.
The Hioki 3287 digital clamp meter is an auto and manual ranging multimeter with true RMS detection for measuring current, voltage, and resistance in electrical test applications, particularly in low-current installations such as combined heat and power plants and energy-saving inverter devices. It has a clamp that measures AC (alternating current) and DC (direct current) up to 100 A (amperes).
The clamp has two jaws that can close around an electrical conductor up to 35 mm (1.38 in) in diameter to measure current without touching or breaking the circuit. Each jaw can open and close independently and is 10mm (0.39 inches) thick to fit between closely spaced conductors. A set of test leads is included to measure ac and dc voltage up to 600V and resistance up to 42 MΩ (megohms).
The meter has a rotary switch to select the property to be measured and a 4199-count LCD display. To simplify documenting readings and taking readings in tight spaces, the data hold feature holds the last reading from on the display after it is disconnected from the circuit. A continuity buzzer confirms that the circuit is conducting.
The device is powered by a single CR2032 battery and will automatically turn off after 10 minutes of non-use to conserve battery life. It has a low battery indicator that shows when the battery needs to be replaced.
Hioki dc current clamp, This true RMS (Root Mean Square) meter provides accurate readings when measuring linear or non-linear loads, regardless of waveform. It has two range modes: Manual, which allows the user to select the range of operation, and Auto, which automatically selects the appropriate range of operation. Accuracy and resolution specifications vary depending on the area measured.
Complies with safety standards EN (European standards) 61010-1, 61010-031, and 61010-2-032 and is designed for CAT(category) III installations with 600 V for current measurement and 300 V for voltage measurement, covering devices in fixed installations Installations such as switches in the fixed installation and some industrial equipment permanently connected to the fixed installation and 600V CAT II voltage measurement installations covering energy consuming equipment connected to a fixed installation including household, office and laboratory device. It is CE marked (European Conformity)
How does a DC amp clamp work?
dc current clamp meter, the meter surrounds the wire, creating a magnetic field around it according to Ampère’s law. The magnetic field is focused on an iron core contained in the clamp. The magnetic field is detected at an air gap containing a semiconductor Hall effect detector.
How do you test a DC with a clamp meter?
To use an ac/dc clamp to measure DC current: Connect the current clamp to the circuit. Make sure the jaws are on one of the circuit wires and the meter is set to measure dc current. Read the current measurement on the current clamp screen.
